Ken Blount, from Sebring Florida, is central Florida's premier luthier.  In addition to creating fine handcrafted instruments, he repairs, restores  and customizes guitars, mandolins, violins, upright basses, ukeleles, banjos and other acoustic instruments.

Ken is  an authorized warranty center for Martin and Ovation and offers select vintage and new instruments for sale.  He has been the subject of feature articles in Frets, Vintage Guitar, Bluegrass Unlimited, Southern Bluegrass, the News Sun and Highlands Today.

I own a early 90's Blount guitar, a small body acoustic.  Recently, I went into the studio to cut an acoustic song for an educational organization.  The song was just fingerstyle guitar, lead vocals and some stacked harmony.  I sat down to first record a 'scratch track'' that's just a preliminary track recorded with one mike to keep your place while recording the final tracks one at a time, no thought is given to mike placement, EQ, etc. After the first run-though, the engineer asked me to come to the booth and said 'You're not going to believe this.'  The track ended up being used as the final cut, (we recorded the harmonies over the 'scratch track' )the engineer asked me what kind of guitar I was playing and actually wrote the name down.

This is not a small, home studio, the studio records nationally released material including 2 wordship services' audio and video post production broadcast weekly nationally
